After Bihar, It’s UP’s Turn: BJP’s Vinod Tawde Slams Congress Over Anticipated Defeat and Shrinking Base
NEW DELHI/LUCKNOW: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Vinod Tawde has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of preparing to blame the Election Commission for its anticipated defeat, much like its narrative in Bihar.
In a sharp political post shared on his social media platform, Tawde targeted the grand old party over its diminishing political footprint, internal governance issues, and what he termed as pre-defeat frustration in Uttar Pradesh.

Lack of Strength to Even Field Candidates
Highlighting the declining political stature of Congress, Tawde pointed out that the party’s condition in Uttar Pradesh has deteriorated to such an extent that it lacks the numerical strength to field candidates for the Rajya Sabha and the upcoming Legislative Council (MLC) elections. Reminiscing about the 2022 UP Assembly elections, he noted that out of 403 constituencies, Congress managed to win a meager 2 seats, long before making excuses or shifting blame.
Three Decades Out of Power in UP
The BJP leader further underscored that Congress has been completely ousted from the state’s leadership helm, with no Chief Minister from the party having assumed office in Uttar Pradesh since 1989.

Appeasement and Dynastic Politics to Blame
Tawde asserted that had Congress refrained from prioritizing appeasement and dynastic politics, it would not have been reduced to conceding defeat even before the elections officially begin.

Political analysts view remarks like these as an intensification of the political heat in Uttar Pradesh, as ruling party leaders continue to corner the opposition over leadership voids and ideological contradictions.
