Patna: Jan Nyay Samvaad 2026’ State-Level Dialogue on Gender-Based Violence, Child Protection, and the Rights of Incarcerated Women and Children
Patna, June 26: A major state-level dialogue aimed at addressing gender-based violence, child protection, and access to justice for marginalized communities will be held in Patna on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Titled “Jan Nyay Samvaad 2026”, the event will take place at the Semi-Circular Hall, Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Mithapur.
The programme is being jointly organized by the Janman People’s Foundation under its Jan Nyay Abhiyan, in collaboration with the Gender Resource Centre of CNLU and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Registration will begin at 9:30 AM.
Special Session to Focus on Incarcerated Women and Children
One of the most significant sessions of the event, Session II (12:30 PM – 1:55 PM), is titled “At the Peripheries: Incarcerated Women, and Children of Incarcerated Parents.”
The discussion will highlight the challenges faced by women in prisons and the legal, social, and child protection concerns affecting children whose parents are incarcerated. The session aims to bring attention to some of the most neglected and vulnerable sections of society.

The session will be chaired by Prof. Vijay Raghavan, Director of the Prayas Project at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).
