The future of crores of young students in the country stands at a crossroads today, where flaws in the system are making more headlines than their hard work and talent. Four of the nation’s largest and most crucial competitive and academic examinations—NEET, CBSE, SSC, and CUET—have become entangled one after another in a labyrinth of controversies, technical failures, and irregularities.

The severe technical glitches and mismanagement that came to light yesterday, May 30, across the country during the CUET-UG examination have once again brought this bitter truth to the forefront.

The central government appears completely unsuccessful in conducting these national-level examinations in a transparent, secure, and timely manner. As a result, an atmosphere of deep insecurity, despair, and frustration has spread among promising youth across the country.

Why Are Students Not Satisfied with the CBSE 12th Results?

No Accountability Fixed, No Major Action: A State of Administrative Lethargy

The most shocking and disturbing aspect of this entire crisis is that despite repeated discrepancies in such major examinations, the senior-most officials responsible within the committees organizing these exams have not yet been identified. Furthermore, no concrete steps have been taken to reach them. The failure to reach the core team or top officials conducting the examinations, or to take major disciplinary action against them, clearly demonstrates a severe lack of seriousness within the system.

Until action is taken against those responsible at the top level, expecting any improvement in the examination system is futile. The government’s failure to fix direct accountability on anyone highlights its administrative lethargy and dilly-dallying attitude toward this grave national issue.

Mere Announcement of a CBI Probe: Freedom from Duty or a Mere Formality?

Every time a major case of rigging or a paper leak comes to light in an examination, a standard, predictable reaction comes from the government—”The matter will be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for inquiry.” It appears as though the central government completely absolves itself of its core duties and accountability simply by announcing such a probe.

But is a CBI investigation the only cure for this becoming an incurable disease? Looking at data and past experiences, the success track record of the CBI in serious and complex administrative scams across the country has been highly disappointing. According to several analytical reviews, the final conviction rate of the CBI is so low that in 99 percent of cases, the culprits do not face strict punishment in a timely manner. In such a scenario, justice for the continuous irregularities faced by crores of youth across the country seems impossible through a mere formal announcement of a CBI probe.

Youth Demand: Only a Transparent ‘NIA’ Investigation Will Uncover the Truth

The continuous rigging in examinations is no longer just a simple administrative oversight. It has turned into a massive and well-organized criminal syndicate operating against the future of the nation’s youth power. If the central government is truly serious about the future of crores of youth, it must abandon its casual approach immediately:

Need of the Hour: The investigation into these serious cases of rigging, technical breaches, and paper leaks in national-level examinations must be handed over to the NIA (National Investigation Agency). The strict legal framework of the NIA and its excellent track record of bringing criminals to justice are exactly what is needed to instill fear in the minds of this examination mafia.

Through the NIA, a deep investigation must be conducted to root out this entire examination mafia syndicate, identify the culprits, and hand them such severe punishment that it serves as a deterrent for the future.

Burning Conclusion

To maintain the trust of the youth in the nation’s democratic and administrative systems, things have now gone too far. The government must understand that time cannot be bided merely on the support of probe announcements. The government needs to demonstrate its seriousness immediately by building an impenetrable, transparent, and modern examination system where the hard work of any student does not fall prey to technical failures or corruption. After all, who will take responsibility for the future of these crores of youth?
