Publication of the Book ‘Bimb Bachkevadhe’ in Thane, Based on Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar’s Diaries

Thane, May 19: “Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar established a lofty ideal through his own life—one characterized by a goal-oriented worldview, impeccable personal conduct, and a vision of organizational self-governance.

 

Through the medium of the Vidyarthi Parishad, he inspired thousands of young men and women to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and to lead lives of purity,” remarked Ravikumar Iyer, a senior *Pracharak* (full-time worker) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and former National General Secretary of the ABVP.

He was speaking on the occasion of the recent publication of the book *Bimb Bachkevadhe* (An Image the Size of a Fistful), which is based on the personal diaries of Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar—a figure who, through the ABVP, reshaped the operational methodologies of social organizations.

Speaking as a special guest at the launch ceremony of *Bimb Bachkevadhe*—the edited compilation of diaries penned by Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar—BJP National General Secretary and MP Vinod Tawde observed that the thoughts contained within this volume (edited by veteran journalist Arun Karmarkar and Prof. Jayant Kulkarni) would provide everyone with the energy to work ceaselessly for the national cause, and that the book would serve as a guiding beacon for activists.

The book has been edited by Dr. Jayant Kulkarni and Arun Karmarkar. The event was held at the local Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium.

Priya Yashwantrao’ Short Film Captivates the Audience

Following the book launch, a special audio-visual presentation (short film) titled *’Priya Yashwantrao’*—based on the life and achievements of Yashwantrao—was screened. This impactful presentation, spanning approximately one hour, was produced by renowned media artist Milind Bhange and his team. Attendees described the program as utterly riveting—one that kept them glued to their seats and touched them deeply at a visceral level.

The event was attended by a large gathering of dignitaries from various fields—including Dinkar Gangal of Granthalay Prakashan, Nirmala Apte (Founder of ‘Bharatiya Stree Shakti’), Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh (Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mumbai), MLA Niranjan Davkhare, author Deepak Karanjikar, and Prof. Milind Marathe (Chairman of the National Book Trust)—as well as numerous social activists.

At the commencement of the program, Nayana Sahasrabuddhe, President of the ‘Srujan Sampada Foundation,’ delivered the introductory remarks and anchored the proceedings. Finally, Prof. Bhushan Thackeray, President of the ABVP Thane Chapter, proposed the vote of thanks.
