Patna: Marking a significant shift toward skill-based empowerment, British Lingua officially launched its statewide social campaign, “Let’s Build a Professional Bihar,” with a massive awareness march in the Boring Road area on Thursday. The initiative aims to rebrand Bihar’s identity from a “labor-driven” state to a “leadership-oriented” professional hub.

The march was led by noted author and social entrepreneur Dr. Birbal Jha, who has previously spearheaded successful movements like the “Namaste March” and “Save the Paag.” The event saw a large turnout of students, educators, and local citizens, all echoing the call for professional transformation.

From Manual Labor to Corporate Leadership

Addressing the crowd at British Lingua’s premises, Dr. Jha emphasized that Bihar does not lack talent, but rather the professional exposure and communication skills required to compete globally.

“Bihar’s challenge lies in a gap of exposure and confidence. Our goal is simple: Labor must evolve into leadership through skill and communication,” Dr. Jha asserted.

To bridge this gap, Dr. Jha outlined a four-phase roadmap:

Awareness & Mobilization: Engaging the public to understand the value of professional skills.

Training: Focusing on communication and soft skills.

Placement: Ensuring professional readiness for the job market.

Entrepreneurship: Developing local leaders and business owners.

Tackling Migration Through Self-Reliance

One of the primary goals of the campaign is to curb distress migration. By equipping the youth with high-value skills, the initiative seeks to ensure that Bihari talent finds opportunities within the state rather than being forced into low-wage manual labor elsewhere.

Prof. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Academic Director of British American University, echoed these sentiments, noting that “hard work combined with communication and dedication forms the bedrock of nation-building.” Adding to the discourse, Sachin Upadhyay, famously known as Law Guru, remarked that the “Labour to Leadership” vision provides the necessary unity and vision to build a competitive workforce.

A Legacy of Social Change

British Lingua, with its three-decade-long history in communication training, will serve as the primary knowledge partner for the campaign. The organization plans to expand this movement across all districts of Bihar through community outreach and institutional collaborations.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from retired headmaster Haridwar Thakur, who urged parents and stakeholders to join the movement. The launch has set the stage for a broader dialogue on how Bihar can reposition itself as a talent powerhouse in a developed India.
